ADDITIONAL OUTREACH INITIATIVES 
The following is a summary of additional outreach initiatives for the two year period October 1, 2005-September 30, 2007. (These Initiatives are in addition  to the Station’s recruiting for job openings)
 
·        Participation in JOB FAIRS by Station Personnel Who Have Substantial Responsibility in Making Hiring Decisions: Management with hiring responsibility participated in the following four job fairs during the two year period.
 
    • Lane County Youth Career Fairs (two) at Lane County Fairgrounds
      • February 14, 2006:    KKNU Program Director Jim Davis,

Director Sarita Churchill, and General Sales Manager

·        INTERN PROGRAM Designed to AssistMembers of the Community to Acquire Skills Needed for Broadcast Employment.
 
o       This internship was started and completed in April 2007. The intern was a college student.This internship was structured to quality experience in all areas of MRB’s broadcasting operations, including sales, programming,  commercial production, and engineering, including discussions with management.
 
·        Participation in a SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Designed to Assist Students Interested in Pursuing a Career in Broadcasting.
 
o       MRB management participated actively in the establishment and award of the first and second Eugene Area Radio Stations (“EARS”) Scholarship. This involvement included a leadership role in successfully advocating for the establishment of an annual EARS scholarship and then being actively involved in applicant evaluation process to select an annual Scholarship winner from multiple candidates.
 
·        A $1,000 scholarship was award during the spring of 2006 to a high school student with career goals in radio broadcasting and theatre.
 
·        A $1,000 scholarship was awarded during the summer of 2007 to a high school active in her high school radio station and with a career goal in “the field of communication”.
